Founded by Luke Woodhead, Woodhead Site Furnishings is more than just a company – it's a testament to passion, craftsmanship, and a lifelong journey. 

 

Born in Australia, Luke's early years were deeply intertwined with the world of construction,  filled with the sights, sounds, and scents of the industry. Growing up on the job sites of Woodhead Homes, his fathers construction company, Luke developed a love for creation, design, and functionality.

 

Despite initially pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Outdoor Education, a serendipitous encounter with his future wife, Meaghan, changed the course of his life. Meaghan's solo backpacking trip to Australia brought them together, eventually leading Luke to embark on a new adventure in Canada in 2004

 

Luke's journey in Canada wasn't straightforward. Armed with an education that seemed incompatible with his new environment, he turned back to his roots – construction. Thus, Woodhead Home Improvements was born, evolving into Woodhead Decks over time. Luke's unconventional name became not just a label but a brand, reflecting his unique identity and commitment to quality.

 

After successfully establishing and later selling Woodhead Decks, Luke joined forces with a Halifax-based Landscape Construction company as a project manager. Here, he had the opportunity to oversee remarkable projects, including the construction of iconic landmarks such as the Stubborn Goat Beer Garden, the Queens Marque landscaping, and the Peggy's Cove Viewing Deck.

 

Yet, amidst the hustle and bustle of managing others' projects, Luke harbored a dream close to his heart—creating bespoke furniture that harmonized with the natural beauty of outdoor spaces. Fuelled by a passion for craftsmanship and a desire for autonomy, Luke took the leap of faith after nine fulfilling years in project management, and founded Woodhead Site Furnishings.
